Curator Standards
What it means to be a Scoop Addict curator.
These standards exist because our buyers trust us — and that trust lives or dies with the curators on this platform. Whether you're applying for the first time or you've been with us since the beginning, these are the principles every Scoop Addict curator is held to.
Getting approved
Before you can list on Scoop Addict, you'll complete an application and review process. Here's what we look at.
-
A completed application
Tell us who you are, what your niche is, and what kind of box you want to build. We're looking for clarity of vision — curators who know their world and can articulate it.
-
A defined box theme
Every listing on Scoop Addict has a clear, honest theme. Buyers know what world they're buying into — they just don't know exactly what's inside. Vague or generic themes don't meet our standard.
-
A boxing video
See the video requirement below, this is one of our most important standards and applies to every listing, not just your first.
Every curator must provide a video of their boxing process before going live. This isn't a formality. We watch every video to verify that the box reflects genuine curation - not a cheap grab-bag. We're not asking that every item be premium, but there should be a clear mix of quality: something in each box that a buyer would genuinely value.
Ongoing standards
Approval is the beginning, not the finish line. Active curators are held to these standards at all times.
-
Honor your shipping window
You set your own shipping window — and you're expected to meet it, every time. Buyers plan around the dates you publish. Consistent late shipments reflect on the platform and on you.
-
Maintain theme integrity
What you describe is what buyers expect to receive — in spirit, if not in exact contents. A "cozy autumn" box should feel like a cozy autumn box. Theme drift — gradually loosening your theme to cut costs — is a violation of buyer trust and our standards.
-
Keep your listings current
Listings must accurately reflect what you're currently offering. Outdated descriptions, incorrect pricing, or unavailable items must be updated promptly. Buyers rely on what they see.
-
Respond to buyers
If a buyer contacts you with a question or concern, respond within a reasonable timeframe. Ignoring buyer messages is not acceptable on this platform.
-
Represent Scoop Addict honestly
As a Verified Curator, you carry the Scoop Addict name. How you conduct yourself in your listings, your packaging, and your buyer communications reflects on the platform. We take that seriously.
Violations and enforcement
We don't publish a fixed penalty schedule because no two situations are identical. What we do commit to is consistency, fairness, and protecting buyers above all else.
How we handle standards violations
When a curator falls short of our standards, we review the situation directly. Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, responses may include a formal notice, temporary suspension of listings, required corrective action, or removal from the platform. Founding curators are not exempt from enforcement, the badge reflects our trust in you, and that trust must be maintained.
If you believe a decision was made in error, you can contact us directly. We're a small team and we handle these conversations ourselves.
The spirit of these standards
Rules are a floor, not a ceiling.
The curators who do best on Scoop Addict aren't the ones who are just technically compliant, they're the ones who genuinely care about what they put in a box. They think about the person opening it. They sweat the small details. They treat their niche with respect.
These standards exist to protect that. Not to create hoops to jump through, but to make sure that every buyer who orders from this platform gets something worth opening.
